He became a god after Ares' death, but became a demigod again in GoW II after loosing his immortality. How he survived was probably due to him falling in the River Styx early in God of War III. In ancient Greek myths, Achilles was dipped in the Styx, making him invulnerable except for one spot (his ankle). Kratos fell in the Styx completed.
The Dominus skin is based on one of the early concept designs for Kratos from the original God of War. This skin was at first exclusively made available by pre-ordering the God of War III Ultimate or Trilogy Edition. It was later on released for both the European and the North-American PSN on November 3, 2010. If you start a new game and use this costume, Kratos will deal 200% damage, take Prediction of Kratos' retaliation and the Second Titanomachy. Developers have also revealed Kratos will wear the armor in-game at some point, before being able to unlock it A lot happened to Kratos between God of War 3 and his new adventures on PlayStation 4. Many God of War fans thought the third game was the end of the franchise, and why wouldn’t they? From all that Kratos wrought, it seemed the entire world was destroyed. To note, Atlas and Kratos appear to have met before (later revealed to be in Chains of Olympus), however, Chains of Olympus was released in 2008, wheras God of War II was released in 2007, but the explanation for this foreshadowing of the two knowing eachother previously could be explained that Chains of Olympus was being developed shortly
